We’re Open: See Inside Ironlak Art & Design Chermside – Ironlak Spray Paint, Markers & Art Supplies

Ironlak Art & Design Chermside is our third Australian flagship store, the second in the greater-Brisbane area. Positioned on Brisbane’s northside, inside the Westfield Chermside shopping centre, this new store marks an exciting step in our desire to create new breed of brick and mortar retail for artists. The Chermside store houses our extended range of Ironlak art supplies, allowing us to bring our high quality and affordable art materials to northside creatives.

Continuing the aesthetic of our Brisbane store, we’ve taken the ‘Black Japan’ theme and evolved it to be more inviting for a shopping centre environment. So while the dark timber framing and Japanese housing influence has been retained, this fit out is brighter, with areas of raw concrete and grey providing balance and contrast. Strips of white neon light, alongside directional lighting create both mood, and pop.

The store design features a large raw concrete wall, which was always intended to be a space for in-store artwork. We invited DOES (Ironlak Family) from the Netherlands to come out and add some soy sawse to our ramen by installing a mural on the back wall. We say install because he literally used fresh concrete to smear on sections of his basecoat, before adding spray paint, markers, and acrylic paint to the equation. Click here to watch the video.

Ironlak art products sold in-store include acrylic & oil paints, gouache, watercolour paint, brushes, painting knives, pencils, paper stumps, technical drawing pens, gel pens, canvas, charcoal, pastels, sketchbooks, pads and easels. We’ve got Ironlak apparel too.
