SIRUM and DVATE | Chemistry.

SIRUM got together with fellow Melbourne local DVATE to paint this massive wall on the side of a pharmacy in the far eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

SIRUM gives us some info behind the wall.

“The wall sits at 30 meters wide x 4 meters tall and was virgin till we got our mitts on it. Being on the side of a Chemist, we thought it’d only be appropriate to come up with some sort of diabolical science and chemistry theme. So we nutted out the concept and went to work using buff paint to texture up the background before we got to the laks and Yardys!
“The painting took us roughly two and a half weeks to complete, and through its construction the wall became somewhat of a spectacle as it is located in the far eastern suburbs of Melbourne where the locals are rarely subjected to such forms of art. The general consensus was that it got the thumbs up, except for one granny who didn’t like the snake until I explained to her it was a non-venomous species, then she loved it!

“The Chemist at the beginning was painted by the very talented DVATE whilst I painted the serpent/Bowl of Hygieia (Hygieia was the daughter of the god of medicine. She was the goddess/personification of health cleanliness and sanitation and her symbol is the snake entwined around a chalice.)” -Sirum.
