Rooftop Legends is a graffiti event in New York’s Lower East Side that has been running since 2007. Taking place on the huge city-block-sized rooftop of the New Design High School, the event features heavy-hitters from the graffiti world with a focus on NY-based artists.
Our boy MAST (TGE IMOK) was on this year’s line-up, bringing heat to the backdrop of the basketball hoop.
“Jesse from Rooftop Legends hit me up in the summer about painting this year’s event in the fall. When he offered me the large corrugated metal wall on the rooftop, I was hype because I was looking for my next big wall. No one had done characters on it yet and I knew if I was going to do ’em they had to be big to look right on the textured surface. After a few sketches, this is what I cooked up. Something for the kids!” –MAST
