Channel 7 News | Project Melbourne Underground (Video) – Australia.

After more than six months of planning, a major art project is underway at Emerald House in South Melbourne. Covering more than 800 square meters of space, the project will become Australia’s largest exhibition of graffiti art, painted directly onto the walls of the buildings car park by some of the world’s most renowned artists.

Around 90 artists will contribute to the exhibition, with many hailing from Australia as well as some from as far away as New York, Paris and Amsterdam. The likes of PHIBS, CES, SIRUM1 and VANS the OMEGA are among those to spray and stencil their way into Australian graffiti art history.

Throughout the duration of the project, workshops are being run for young people from Melbourne, to help build their self-esteem and confidence, and show how their talents can be used in a legal and productive way.
