Here’s a report of the aptly named “Wet BBQ Burners Holland,” courtesy of Chas:
“Originally the Dutch Ironlak BBQ Burners was supposed to take place in Nijmegen, but due to some really ugly weather forecasts we thought it wise to change venues. We headed to this big old abandoned railway tunnel under Holland’s most busy highway.
“The soon to be Mrs. Chas chef’d the BBQ and made sure all meatlovers and the minority of veggies painted with full bellies whilst Rems and Puaks emptied most of the beer stock.
“On one side of the tunnel the Clowns From Hell (CES 53, Mr. MISTER, Dr. CHESS), Daddies Nasty Sons (MEGA, ROMEO) and NYSE & SUNK were blazing… On the other side LoveLetters (PUAKS, DOES, NASH, CHAS), REMS, POEN and SIGN were burning. As night falls early in October most of us finished our pieces in the dark, but that could also have something to do with the beers…
“The constant raining outside the tunnel proved that it was a wise decision to go to a covered spot. Ironlak performed really well under these wet weather conditions..Unfortunately the background roller paint didn’t. Due to high humidity the wallpaint never really dried and during the night it started dripping over our pieces.. Luckily some of us got to take some good photo’s before nightfall… Others were less lucky.” –Chas.

This BBQ Burners is a true testiment not only to the Dutch ability, but also to their spirit.
