After a straight-up hectic week of planning and coordination, we jumped on the midday flight from Brissy, heading south to the land of the blues. We were working with a smaller team than usual, so it was all hands on deck getting our Ironlak Art & Design Creative Corner set up and ready to go for the 45,000 punters rearing to race through the doors of The Dome in Sydney’s Olympic Park on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Our space wouldn’t have been complete without the genius crew from Kingspray with their Oculus Rift Virtual Reality graffiti game. And of course, our secret weapon friends Chris Yee, Jeremy Eden, Randy Ngurran (in spirit, through his Monster Hunter blades), and Maid. They came through to really show what our art products can do at the extreme end of the skill spectrum!
To be expected, the Ironlak Creative Corner got unequivocally smashed over the weekend. Test benches got messed up, the scribble wall got destroyed, and trial pads got filled – all in the name of creativity. The cosplay factor was set to 100 with everyone from the Daredevil, to Mick from Wolf Creek, donning the aisle carpet.
Big thanks to everyone who came through for the good times, the Ironlak Creative corner will be in Brisbane 10 – 12 November, so keep an eye out. -BRT
