The D–racula Train: Halloween Wholecar in NYC

We hit a snag with the article we were about to push live today so here’s some belated Halloween pictures semi-fresh from the Big Apple. As SEEN said – “Late, as usual, but I’m here, I show up”.

This Halloween-themed wholecar, complete with Dracula character, was painted on the D train, in the Bronx. It was revealed the morning after Halloween, by transit reporter Jose Martinez (THE CITY) on Twitter,  and quickly spread to a couple mainstream media outlets. (That’s fame!)

Since we know you just want to look at the flicks on this one, we’ll finish with some quotables:

First, the official MTA statement:

“There’s nothing amusing about graffiti that takes train cars out of service, takes cleaners away from ensuring the spaces millions of riders use every day are sanitary, and costs thousands of dollars that could otherwise be used to help provide reliable, efficient and safe service,”

And there’s always gold in the comments (from CBS News):

“It’s ETs, not graffiti artists. No ordinary citizen has that kind of access to an MTA subway car anymore. The official statement is a cover story.”

“They need to pay those vandals, because this looks amazing.”
