Two weeks ago the fine folk at Analogue/Digital held their second Gold Coast edition of AD. Ironlak has been a sponsor of the event since they first launched a couple of years back, so this time around Matt from AD was adamant that we create some kind of display to showcase Ironlak at the event.
We arrived the night before with a car load of graffiti paraphernalia and a very loose plan. My main man Troy from Archer & Archer was styling the VIP room and the stage area so we hooked it into his warehouse and borrowed a bunch of supplies to beef up the display. Archer & Archer is an awesome little business that collects “unique things with character and personality” and then sells/rents them to people like me and maybe even you. Check them out if you’re into that kind of thing.
I wanted to create a display that resembled the area where a writer/artist might keep his supplies, so of course the display included a few favourite books and bric-a-brac from my own collection. It was the first time I’d done this kind of thing, so it was an interesting process.
The conference itself was awesome and a great opportunity to catch up with good peoples. Friends and acquaintances; Lister, Numskull, Joseph Allan Shea and Christopher Doyle were amongst the speakers and were ever inspiring in their own ways. Beastman painted at the after party venue.
Thanks to Matt and all the amazing crew at AD, Troy Archer, Callie, Luiz, Kat, Claudio and everyone else who helped make the day amazing. Next time Gadget.
The Art of Getting Over by ESPO is one of my favourite graffiti books ever. Everyone getting into graffiti needs to read the how-to section.
Balloon by Anthony Lister.
Mr. Lister was pumped.
Craig from Art Park hijacked some of our G’DAY My Name Is stickers. He’s not Banksy, honest.
Luiz, Callie, Elana and Claudio were my awesome lunch buddies.
