LINZ | The Vault.

Linz has been digging into the Vaults over at his blog recently. here’s a couple of pieces from his archives.

“This weeks bad boy from ‘The Vault‘ was part of a 2-namer i rocked back in ‘98 with ‘JURY’. Also painting that day was my good friend ‘NAUTSTA’ and a few other scallywags. At the time I had just been put down with ‘RAPID FIRE’ and not long after ‘WAR CREW’, Two crews that I had a lot of fun with for many years and made a few life-time friends. This actual piece was inspired by the song “AM I EVIL by METALLICA who i have been a massive fan of since primary school. I think at the time of painting this piece I was having some drama with a girl and wondered if i was really evil? And NO, its not Malcolm X in the middle. With all the latest bullshit in the media about graffiti I wish I could go back to then, a time when graffiti was fun and raw and I didn’t have a worry in the world. Stay tuned for “AM I EVIL” part 2 next week.”

“So this week from The Vault is Part-2 of the “Am i evil” series. I painted this one circa 2000 in good ol’Mindham park which back in the day was Townsville’s hall of fame with just about every wall backing onto it legal. This piece was part of a 3-namer with ‘DYMS‘ and another mate of ours ‘A‘. Also below is Metallicaperforming the track “Am i evil” live back when they were killing shit and making their best music ever. Check it.”

“This weeks vault special is a wall I painted in midtownManhattan in New York City back in 2001, Also present on the wall were my good friends SLIN2 from the old skool VAMP SQUAD, my very good friend MERK UW and also T-KID from THE NASTY BOYS got down. I tried to do a simple cross continents theme with the train representing New York and america and the Great White representing Australia, Turned out to be a pretty cool wall although quite a few people never finished but it rode for quite sometime. The 2nd photo is a quick posse shot of us hanging out at after i finished my piece on the wall, I was stoked to have FLIP ROCK( back middle of photo) from the Legendary ROCK STEADY CREW come down and hang. GOOD TIMES.”
